  3. Okay Paleo Diet here I come... I'm still a little confused as to what is and isn't allowed...for example. Salad dressing??? Because I have good paleo salads but the dressing may be my downfall.

  4. Do I have to have carbs with breakfast or is just protein okay??

  5. Good for you Hilary! Check out the list of foods to eat and foods to avoid (up at the top on the right hand sidebar) for help with what's paleo and what is not.

As for salad dressing, don't use the commercial stuff. Make your own with olive oil, lemon juice, and spices. We'll try to post a recipe soon.

With paleo, unlike zone, you do not HAVE to have carbs at every meal. But be sure to include fat with your protein, that's very important. Add some olive oil, avocado, or nuts with your breakfast. And stay away from fatty meats except for very special occasions (e.g., especially bacon and fatty hamburger). Stick to lean meats like fish, white meat poultry, and meat trimmed of all visible fat.

Good luck, and if you have more questions please let us know!

  8. Okay I am having serious struggles with "the challenge". Although my goals don't include weight loss, I think it is a nice bonus:) I am at 142.5 as of this morning. My 'fitness' portion of my goals won't be able to start until the 8th of Sept. when the kids will be back at school and I can get out more. I might feel better about how it is all going. I did have some non Paleo fare at the beach just to see what might happen and wow was I sorry! On the pot rejecting a small amount of crap that I ingested, never again! I am very aware of how food is affecting me now...

Starting Body Fat (home scale): 35%
Plan: Paleo with a few weekly glasses of red wine
Goal: Main goal is weight loss. I just had my fourth baby in August and have 30 lbs to lose to get back to pre-pregnancy weight. This is my first venture into weight loss post delivery. I plan on hitting the weights and cardio pretty hard as well. Not sure that I'm ready for crossfit but I can bike with my double trailer, hit the gym and to P90x at home. I would like to average 2lbs weekly.
